Develop fundamental performance, rehearsal and ensemble skills and prepare music for Winter Concert.
January - May
Further develop fundamental performance, rehearsal and ensemble skills. Technical ability grows faster in this stage of the school year. Students will prepare music for Spring Concert, Lincoln Solo and Ensemble Contest and ensemble auditions.
May - June
Continue to prepare for Lincoln Solo and Ensemble Contest and ensemble auditions while introducing advanced performance, rehearsal and ensemble skills to prepare students for advancement in band.
Honor Winds and Symphonic Band
August - November
Review and reinforce fundamental performance, rehearsal and ensemble skills. Students will hone ensemble procedures and daily effort in a way that crafts success as the year progresses. Prepare for All-Region auditions, Veteran's Day Performance, Pep Rallies, and football game performances.
November - December
Continue to reinforce fundamentals while introducing advanced performance, rehearsal and ensemble skills. Prepare music for Winter Concert and continue work on All-Region audition music.
December - February
Continue to reinforce fundamental and advanced performance, rehearsal and ensemble skills. Prepare music for All-Region Concert Performance and Pre-UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluation.
February - April
Synthesize information, concepts, and skills into a superior performance at UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Concert Evaluation alongside various other advanced performances opportunities.
April - June
Refine and extend advanced performance, rehearsal and ensemble skills. Prepare music for Spring Concert, Solo Contest, ensemble auditions, and grade promotion to high school.
