CHS Orchestra Newsletter

Good morning!

With our first concert of the year, I want to send out some information that will hopefully answer some questions. 

CHS Orchestra Concert

Tuesday, October 13th

Murphey Performance Hall (72 W College Ave)

6pm Start

Arrive by 5:30pm, with your instruments and concert black. 

We don't have uniforms yet, so you are expected to wear Concert Black, which is the following:

Gentlemen: Black dress shirt, Black dress pants, black dress shoes (or boots)

Ladies: Long black dress (floor length or at LEAST calf) and close toed shoes. Your knees will be eye-level with the audience, so this is non-negotiable. You may also wear a black dress shirt with dress slacks, and black shoes if you prefer. 

You are required to get your instrument to and from the auditorium (yes, even basses, I believe in you!)

You may enter through the loading dock and uncase there. While the other groups are performing, you will sit in the audience. We will start with JV-Philharmonic at 6pm, then Symphony, then Chamber, ending the night with the rock orchestra. We should be done by 7:15. 

Participation in the concerts in mandatory and serves as 2 major grades.

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year!  We have been hard at work on our concert music and are excited to bring you a great show on October 13th. With this new year, we are bringing back our Orchestra Newsletter, where you'll find all things CHS orchestra, including upcoming events, concert dates, Class focuses, and pretty much anything we can think of. We will send an email of this newsletter regularly, as well as post them on our website.
