Overall timeline:
Spring - Some schools host practice entrance/scholarship tests and visitation days. Please visit the admissions pages for information on how to register for these events. Thursday, March 21, 2024 is the Universal Visitation Day for 7th graders. There is information about these days on the Bishop Shanahan High School, Pope John Paul II High School and Archbishop Carroll High School websites. More information will be provided soon.
Fall - This is when everything happens: admission/scholarship tests, shadow days and then applying to the high schools. All dates will be found on the individual school websites.
Testing:
All 8th graders will take the HSPT (High School Placement Test) at St. Pat's in the Fall during a school day. Based on the process this past year, this test will be used for the Archdiocesan high school admissions and scholarships as well as the Neumann Scholarship (which students will have to pre-qualify for based on their 7th grade Terra Nova scores and grades). The private high schools have their own testing program (also using the HSPT) that students will take in the Fall for admission and scholarships to those schools.
Scholarships:
Most scholarships come from the individual high schools. Please refer to the admissions pages for this information. There are a small number of scholarships that do not come directly from the high schools. Information on these can be found on my website but will also be sent out when we receive the new information each year, if the scholarships are available.
