100 points will be given to each student each quarter as a citizenship grade (behavior and/or cooperation). If a student is RESPONSIBLE (punctual and prepared), RESPECTFUL (models proper behavior), and FOCUSED (stays on task and works hard throughout the quarter), then the citizenship points they have remaining should be a boost for their grade at the end of the quarter.
Students may have points deducted for a variety of reasons. Examples are listed below:
10 points – Tardy
If the office or previous teacher has held you, then you must have a note from them when you get to class or else you will be counted as tardy.
10 points – Unprepared for class or not being prepared when class begins
This includes the following: arriving to class without a pencil and other necessary items, entering the room and promptly gathering your supplies in an organized and calm manner.
10 points – Excessive talking or off-task /distracting behavior
If what you are saying or doing is keeping you or someone else from doing their work.
10 points – Not following directions
This includes how to enter or leave the room, gather and use supplies and clean-up.
20 points – Inappropriate behavior for a substitute teacher
If a substitute teacher leaves your name with any negative remarks.
20 points – Inappropriate language
This includes “sound alike” words and slang/prejudiced statements.
20 points – Being rude/disrespectful to another classmate
This plan is designed to reward students for proper/responsible behavior.
