Saint Matthew School, a Catholic elementary school in northeast Philadelphia celebrates excellence in education since 1937. Dedicated faculty and staff continue to nurture intelligent minds and Christ-like hearts with innovative instructional strategies. The ethnically diverse population of preK to Grade 8 students, along with the faculty, alumni and members of the extended school family, share the charism of joyful service with the community. We are dedicated to: Disseminating the gospel values by promoting and fostering a strong Catholic Identity; Appreciating the individual needs and cultural diversity of our students by adhering to a relevant academic curriculum; Offering each child support and respect by providing a loving and welcoming atmosphere. Ensuring a safe environment through instruction and school wide readiness drills. Cultivating moral and spiritual character in all members of our school community by engaging them in service, athletic, cultural, artistic, and social activities; Preparing our students for the future with technological skills that higher education and careers will demand. We celebrate our accomplishments and pledge to look to the future with innovation and inspiration.
