Week 3

Good morning boys and girls....I hope you're all doing well and you and your families are staying safe and healthy.

Here are the assignments for the week of March 31. Please look below the assignments for the homework pages that have to completed under each subject. Also check you math teachers homework page for this week's assignments.

ELA

Read "Fossil Fish Found" in reading magazine pgs. 50&51 and answer the following questions:

1. What is a coelacanth?

2. Using details from the article, describe what it looks like.

3. What is its nickname?

4. How long did Dr. Smith spend looking for another one and where did he finally see one?

5. Look at the map on pg. 51. Would you expect to find a coelacanth off of the coast of the New Jersey shore? Why or why not?

Complete p.61 on theme paper

Read "The Case of the Missing Deer" pgs. 52-56 and complete RN pgs. 394 &395

Write sentences for spelling words on RN p. 374

For spelling sentences 1-5 identify parts of speech.

Religion

Read Chp.14 and work on Making Up assignment on p.115. On page 119 define the Words to Know and complete the review p.120. Also continue studying Religion Bee questions.

Social Studies

Complete the Canadian pages posted below this weeks homework and study the South American countries/capitals on Seterra.com. Also watch the National Geographic kids National park video on "Kelp Forests" and write down 3 interesting facts that you learned.

Science

Watch Bill Nye the Science Guy video on Germs and answer the following questions:

1. What body part has the most germs on it?

2. What special chemical in our body will attack germs?

3. What blood cell attacks germs?

4. Name two ways germs enter the human body.

5. What is the best thing you can do to prevent germs from getting into your body?

Math

Play FIM for 20 minutes everyday. Watch Math Antics video on coordinate plane- which we started discussing on Friday March 13th- and complete math worksheets below. Also watch Math Antics video on point, lines and planes and complete math worksheet below. Complete Math wb. 175 and 176 which is a review on expanded form.
