This term we are looking into "Creatures of the World". How do creatures adapt to their environment? What adaptations may or might be needed for creatures to survive? What sort of creatures used to inhabit our environment?

This term we are looking at Creatures of the World. We will go on expeditions through books and technologies to research information on your chosen animal. You will find facts about your animals habitat to help you design a model habitat for your chosen animal at the zoo.

We will also look at designing models of bird houses and build them for our native manu in the Rereanga Awa.

OUR DIGITAL WORLD

This term we are looking into "Our Digital World". What is Technology? How is technology created? Are digital items only identified as technology? ... How did the digital technology came about? What were the big changes in our technology?

This week we will look at the Evolution of Sound Technology. We will investigate instruments used during the Stone Age, and Māori instruments during pre colonial times. We will also explore the evolution of sound, and how to create sound.

Week 1: This week we will look at introduction of Technology. Focusing on learning, questioning and understanding how technology has evolved? How technology is created? Why is technology created? Understanding the purpose behind technology.

WHAT IS TE TIRITI O WAITANGI?

This term we'll be looking into The Treaty of Waitangi. How did this came about? Why do we have the Treaty? In order to fully understand this Inquiry, we'll need to be putting on our detective hats on and investigate this inquiry on TE TIRITI O WAITANGI, and have a better understanding of a small history of Aotearoa New Zealand.

Week 7:

This week we are looking at applying and analyzing our information we have gathered so far.

To do this: You will imagine yourself as a journalist that is attending the signing of the Treaty. Write down key notes and facts you have gathered to make your headline on the cover of the Daily News 1840.

This week we will look at what we have learnt so far about the Te Tiriti O Waitangi, and how we can apply what we've learnt in order to make our own Class Treaty.
