Rebecca Holm is a budding fashion historian studying at Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana, working towards a double major in History and Humanistic Studies with a minor in Fashion & Costume. After graduation in 2026, she plans to work in a museum or archival environment, hoping to specialize in historical fashion, the medieval period, or wherever she can find a paying job. Previously, Rebecca has had experience at the CSC Archives and Records and is currently a student worker at the SMC Archives.
The eldest of four children, Rebecca spent her childhood in Littleton, Colorado where she continues to enjoy thrifting, mushroom foraging, and baking bread. Sustainable textiles and mindful craftivism play a key role in her many hobbies. Her limited free time is spent striving to embody a nineteenth century genteel lady accomplished in the usual arts: embroidery, penmanship, voice, lace making, and ballroom dancing. One day, Rebecca hopes to fulfill her dream of owning a beautiful cottage equipped with a spiral staircase, a library with a ladder, and a dye garden.
My passion for fashion history began in 2020 with a series of YouTube videos and a sewing machine. Very quickly I discovered BBC's 2018 TV mini series, A Stitch in Time. In the second episode, fashion historian Amber Buchart and her team recreated the dress in Jan van Eyck's famous 1434 oil painting, The Arnolfini Portrait. This dress continues to be one of my favorite samples of dress history. The complex details of the painting astound me and I hope to one day be able to recreate this dress like Amber Buchart did.

I have never been a huge lover of poetry, however, I have been working towards building a relationship with poetry. "She Walks in Beauty" by Lord Byron and U.S. Poet Laureate, Ada Limon, have been some of my big inspirations recently.
Music has played a key part of my life as long as I can recall. I was a member of band and marching band for seven years and have been in choir since 3rd grade. Most recently I have sung with Saint Mary's Belle Voix, the Jesus College Chapel Choir at the University of Oxford and am currently a member of the Notre Dame Chorale.
In addition to performing a variety of music, I am heavily inspired by my eclectic taste in music. Listening to music, whether it's Vivaldi during a study session or screaming Pink Pony Club at the top of my lungs in the car, helps me ground myself and connect with others. Feel free to check out my Spotify, including my HUST inspired playlist!
While not a professional by any means, I love taking nature photography!
I am nothing, if not a reader! While my busy schedule prevents me from reading all day every day, I do my best to read whenever I have the chance. Here are a few of my all time favorites (this list is by NO MEANS comprehensive, I adore a lot of books)!
