A democratic republic is a type of government based on concepts acquired from a republic and a democracy. Democratic republics operate on concepts shared both by republics and democracies. Egypt is currently governed by a president, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who was elected by Egyptian citizens over the age of 18, and Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, who was appointed by the president.

Egypt's chief executive body of the Arab Republic of Egypt is the Cabinet of Egypt. The Cabinet is composed of a Prime Minister, who selects other members of the cabinet, called cabinet ministers. The cabinet is responsible for arranging the general policy of the State in alliance with the president of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
