Fourth Grade News

May 6-10

Monday:   We began taking notes for our Gold Rush projects. We also wrapped up our study of Family Life including basic genetics and anatomy.  We read about the impact of the Dust Bowl and World War II on the growth of California.

Tuesday:   We learned about lines of symmetry or learned to use the commutative and associative properties with addition of fractions.  We read about Jack's nickname "Jamoka Jack."

Wednesday:   Fourth grade met with Mrs. Gorbach to continue our weekly discussions of self awareness and social awareness.  We enjoyed completing a "Mission to Mission" with Mr. Phelan.  The task required all students to work together to open a "locked box."   Students worked together to find and decode clues.

Thursday:   We read and discussed the great Sacrifice honored at each and every Mass through the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist.  We also worked to type our Gold Rush notes and edit them with a teacher.

Friday:  We attended the Crowning of Mary hosted by Bishop Vasa.  We gathered in families to make graduation cards for our 8th grade family leaders.

Next WeekWe will enjoy Spirit Week and the Talent Show.  We will continue work on Gold Rush projects and finish By the Great Horn Spoon.
