web config question

Q. Can we make a folder and put a previously zipped entire website into it? In classic google sites we could make a new "File Cabinet" page that shows folders and individual files galore, but I haven't found a way to upload whole folders, such as a collection of javadoc files. [On gargoyle one can upload and then unzip archives and voila, entire folder structure is there in one shot.]

Suggestions from google tech support (community?) pages says, "new version of Google Sites does not offer anything like file cabinets, but you can embed Google Drive folders" and has instructions. For the below, Aug 2020, Mike used "Insert" Drive on right and selected my shared comdep-goo-site's subfolder "assignments". I wonder whether the widget below updates. I'm Publishing, adding a file... which shows up, voila! Might not have needed to reload page, but hard to tell because Safari keeps assuming I'm trying to get in as mgmail rather than msaintanns and telling me I don't have access, till I can switch identity.
