Dance classes

Beginning Dance

All dancers will explore the different styles and disciplines that comprise a dance education. Some styles will include: hip-hop, jazz, and contemporary. Dancers will also study the disciplines of technique, musicality, choreography/movement studies, positive self image, dance class etiquette, and conditioning.

Beginning students will participate in movement studies throughout the year in which they will have the opportunity to learn the techniques of beginning choreography and in class performances.  They will also perform in the WGHS Showcase.  

 

Intermediate Dance

All dancers will explore the different styles and disciplines that comprise a dance education. Some styles will include: hip-hop, jazz and contemporary. Dancers will also study the disciplines of technique, musicality, choreography/movement studies, positive self image, dance class etiquette, and conditioning.

Intermediate students will start choreographing and teaching short combinations to their class. Intermediate students will also start learning about improvisation. They will also perform two dances in the WGHS Showcase.

 

Advanced dance

All dancers will explore the different styles and disciplines that comprise a dance education. Some styles will include: hip-hop, jazz and contemporary. Dancers will also study the disciplines of technique, musicality, choreography/movement studies, positive self image, dance class etiquette, and conditioning.

Advanced students will continue to create their own choreography, teach it to their class, and have to opportunity to perform their dances.  They will also perform with the PAC in the Homecoming Dance at the Assembly and Football Game.  Advanced will perform three dances in the WGHS Showcase.
