Advice from the Class of 2026

What I wish I knew before 6th grade-

S.S.-

"I wish I knew how fun it was so that I wasn't so scared and nervous on the first day."

E.S.-

"I wish I knew I would not be able to finish my whole school year, at MMS, and I also wish I knew that these teachers were the best instead of me assuming they were. :)"

R.S. -

"How hard it was going to be when we left."

A.F. -

"That it is not as hard as it seems and the teachers are all nice ."

K.H.-

"It isn´t as hard as it may seem just do your best and you will be fine and make sure to turn in your work on time or don´t forget to do it."

B.W.-

"I really wish that I knew the school layout. And how to memorize where my locker was, and how to open it. . . On the first week I was going into the science lab, when really I had math, or something else! And also on the first week I would have to have a whole map to know where I was going in the school, and my locker number, and the code! Looking back, I think that it was so silly because now I memorized the school, how to open a locker, and how to memorize all the numbers. Fun. . ."

A.F.-

"I wish I had known that you don't need to worry about tardies. I probably got 2 tardies a quarter but once I got 2 I really started getting to class quicker and when I did it felt like I was in the classroom a long time before the bell rang."

E.L.-

"I wouldn’t wish to know anything about six grade when I entered. It’s not because I already knew everything, it’s actually the opposite. I knew from the beginning that there was going to be stuff I didn’t understand, and stuff I already knew. It was like any other year, you're unsure at first but you quickly get the hang of it. I guess the only thing I would have liked to know going into 6th grade was that I was going to move so I could have done some things different."

L.A.-

"time management, how to do my locker combination, and how to organize my locker"

L.M.-

"That it was easy to get from class to class in 3 minutes"

E.H.-

"I think I would have liked to know that it would not have been so scary, and difficult."

E.A.-

"there are no tardies at the beginning of school, and there are teachers in every hallway to help with lockers"

K.G.-

"that it's a nice big building and that I wish I had known that it's a good place to be"

G.V.-

"I wish I knew that you have two ELA classes"

B.Y.-

"That changing in PE wasn't that bad!"

B.B.-

"that it wasn't that hard"

L.G.-

"I wish I knew that it gets way easier as the year goes on and it is a lot less stressful than people say it is!"
