Sage International School 5th Grade Website; Teachers: Mrs. Pavlisin, Mrs. Lunt, and Ms. Dillard
Greetings friends! My name is Allison Pavlisin and I am new to the Sage team this year. I am fresh off of a year teaching 6th grade for the Boise Online School, and beyond that, have several years of experience teaching in Elementary Schools. I am very excited to be teaching 5th grade with our wonderful team and focusing on the subject area of reading! Reading helps us discover new worlds, possibilities, and self-discoveries, far beyond our own imagination. It truly is the most magical subject to teach!
My family is made up of my loving husband, Dylan, and our two dogs Lily and Luna (named, of course, after Harry Potter characters). I am lucky enough to live close to my brother, Mr. Freers, who is also a teacher at Sage and one of my dearest friends. Outside of school, I enjoy reading, watching comedy TV shows, taking my pups for a swim in the Boise River, and eating a variety of yummy foods. I am a nerd at heart and will always welcome discussions on Star Wars, Harry Potter, The Office, and more! Sharing passions is one of my favorite things to do!
A few of my other favorite things:
Book: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Drink: Chai Lattes & Sprite
Candy: Hot Tamales & Brookside Chocolates
Color: Yellow
Season: Winter
Movies: The Princess Bride
Quote: "I used to think I was the strangest person in the world but then I thought there are so many people in the world, there must be someone just like me who feels bizarre and flawed in the same ways I do. I would imagine her, and imagine that she must be out there thinking of me, too. Well, I hope that if you are out there and read this and know that, yes, it's true I'm here, and, I'm just as strange as you." - Frida Kahlo
Hello and welcome to 5th grade! My name is Jen Lunt (formerly Jen Goodale), and some of you may have already had me as a teacher several years ago! I also know many of you from lunch in the classroom or passing in the hallway. I am so excited to be experiencing 5th grade with you this year, especially as my subject matter has shifted. I will be exploring teaching "Inquiry Research and Applications." In the past, I have taught 'writing.' This will be my third year teaching 5th grade. I previously taught 2nd grade for four years in addition to completing my student teaching at Sage in 1st and 4th grades. I enjoy hiking and walking with my husband Drew and our dogs, Snowgirl and (Buster) Posey. On the weekends or evenings, I can be found road biking, at spin class, walking my dogs, reading, watching movies or Netflix, or napping.
A few of my favorites:
Book: Harry Potter
Drink: Water or Coffee
Candy: Reese's (but I really love them all!)
Color: blue
Season: Fall
Movies: Harry Potters and Christmas/holiday movies.
Quotes:
"People may forget what you say or do, but they won't forget how you make them feel." - Maya Angelou
"It's amazing what you can accomplish when you do not care who gets the credit." -Harry Truman
“If you want to know what a man’s like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals.” – Sirius Black, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
I am looking forward to a fun year with you as we embark on new learning and experiences!
My name is Julynn Dillard and I am proud to make Sage my new home. I have been teaching for 11 years. I have always known I have wanted to be a teacher. There is a great feeling when I can help my students learn and grow.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy golfing and being with friends and family.
How do I feel about education? Nelson Mandela has expressed it best by stating, “ Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world.” Being well educated with help each and every student to reach for their goals by being strong in character and deed.
