Games development uses assets from a range of creative sources. 3D models for environments and objects, 2D assets for menus and backgrounds, sound for feedback and atmosphere, and more. In this module you will gain the fundamental understanding of the production and implementation of these types of assets. This is important to support collaboration with other creatives, and to meet the common need to develop representative placeholder assets during production. You will gain practical experience with 3D modelling, lighting, shading, and rendering to gain a foundational understanding of a range of computer graphics concepts, 2D sprite creation for User Interfaces, and source and create Sound assets for user feedback. You will also reflect on the theoretical principles behind the development of computer graphics, audio, and asset pipelines through critical analysis.
