We will be looking for this key phrase either spoken, in text, or both.  If your video does not have this we may ask you to include.

If you're using a vehicle in any piece of your PSA, ensure that all passengers and the driver are buckled at all times. This is a requirement. 

Make sure you're including diverse themes, locations, lived experiences, folks, etc. both behind and in front of the camera.

In mobility safety & prevention we know roadway incidents are avoidable, therefore we use "crash" NOT "accident". Any videos using the word "accident" will be asked to submit edits.

Always film in the highest quality and make sure the PSA is in landscape, horizontal, or "YouTube" style/orientation NOT portrait, vertical, or TikTok style/orientation.  

You can use any data you like from the provided resources or other reputable sources in your PSA, either in text or spoken word. But of course, cite it!

If you have a connection to this issue, use that as a powerful tool and connect with your audience on the dangers of drowsy driving!

Be sure that you have completed the image release forms for all participants and submitted them appropriately.

If you're splitting it evenly, great! If not, have that conversation before you even start the project together.

Should go without saying but ensure all content is your own! That includes music, clips, graphics, etc.

Anyone involved in this PSA should not in any way be under the influence during filming. Any actors should not be otherwise engaged in distracted driving or other harmful acts.

This PSA will be shown throughout all NY State Thruway rest stops, DMV offices, and Nationwide on social media. We will disqualify any submissions with inappropriate language, gestures, or any articles of clothing/accessories that contain these issues.

The aim of this PSA is to avoid drowsy driving and show the dangers of driving impaired. We are not trying to run for election or talk about our stance on societal issues.

Production of this PSA does not protect you from prosecution. Putting yourself or others in danger to create this content is absolutely prohibited.  If the review team feels as though there were dangers in the making of this PSA we will disqualify it! 

The official SADD logo is the only permissible logo you should use in this PSA.
