How to Apply

Step One: Application Process

• Meet with Mrs. Sanborn (ELO Coordinator) to discuss your plans and request.

• Complete the ELO contract and submit it to Mrs. Sanborn.

• Mrs. Sanborn seeks out a mentor and/or community partner, as applicable.

Step Two: ELO Planning and Implementation

• Together with Mrs. Sanborn and/or the community partner, complete a detailed ELO syllabus based on the Maine Life and Career Ready Standards and ELO permission form.

• To implement the ELO syllabus, meet regularly with Mrs. Sanborn and the community partner, as appropriate. Maintain documentation as required by the syllabus including, but not limited to a portfolio, reflective journal, research notes, and other evidence of learning.

Step Three: ELO Assessment/Evaluation

• Make arrangements with Mrs. Sanborn for a reflection of learning.  This may include several different types of reflections including a presentation, online video, and written reflection.
