Life and Career

This 2 credit Dual Enrollment course through the University of Maine is an experiential course designed to assist students with exploring and identifying career interests and goals.
Students will investigate career clusters to make informed choices with regard to careers. They will explore post-high school pathways, including 2 year and 4 year colleges (majors, minors, concentrations) and experiential learning opportunities, and potential career options. Lessons will enhance understanding the financial aspects of higher education along with the pros and cons of various pathways. Students will learn about careers of interest through job shadows and interviews. The final project will include creating a College/Career Action Plan that includes SMART goals outlining steps in the college/career exploration journey.
