It’s time once again to celebrate all of the incredible people who make SACS such a special place—those who teach, clean, cook, organize, drive, and care for our students every single day!
Through the SACS Education Foundation, staff members from across all schools and departments are recognized each month with the SACS Superstar Award. We’d love your help in shining a spotlight on the amazing work being done at Homestead by sharing this with your students and nominating your colleagues.

Homestead High School is proud to announce that seven of its senior students have been named Semifinalists in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. This prestigious recognition highlights the academic excellence and dedication of these students, placing them among the top scholars in the nation.
The National Merit Scholarship Program honors students who demonstrate outstanding performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), which serves as the qualifying exam for the competition. Semifinalists represent less than 1% of the U.S high school seniors. We are very proud of our Spartans in this incredible accomplishment!

Additionally, seven Homestead High School seniors have been recognized as National Merit Commended Students. This honor places them among the top approximately 50,000 high school students nationwide. Although Commended Students do not move on in the competition for National Merit Scholarships, this recognition acknowledges their exceptional academic promise.

Johnny Appleseed Recap
On the weekend of Saturday September 20th, the Homestead Spartan Alliance band participated in the 50th Annual Johnny Appleseed festival. Every year, the band works a booth at the festival selling chicken and dumplings. This is one of their biggest fundraisers all year, and it is always a fun and amazing way to raise money. This year they had an amazing turn out, thank you to everyone who participated and showed support!
