Clubs!
We want to take a moment to encourage all Spartans not already involved in an extra or co-curricular activity to find a group to participate in. Joining a high school club is a great way to enhance both academic and personal development. Clubs provide an opportunity to make friends with similar interests, a place to do something you feel good about, and a way to make school something more than just a place to go to class. For students planning on going on to college after graduation, sustained and meaningful club participation, which means joining a club that pairs well with your future plans and then sticking with that club throughout your high school career, is something very beneficial to include in university applications. Club, team, and performance group participation fosters personal growth, social skills, and community involvement, all of which prepare students for any type of future endeavor. If you have an idea for a club that we do not currently offer, please email Assistant Principal Jen Bay (jbay@sacs.k12.in.us) to learn more about starting a new club at Homestead.
