SACS Superstar!
The SACS Education Foundation has created a new opportunity to honor SACS employees and would like your assistance. Students, community members, and colleagues can nominate a SACS employee who has gone above and beyond to impact our students. Any SACS employee can be nominated, including teachers, custodians, bus drivers, and nurses. If you see a staff member who excels at their duties and goes the extra mile to help others, nominate them for this award by scanning the QR code on the flier. SACS staff spends so much time doing their best to make the learning environment for students as good as possible, so it is our turn to show them appreciation by acknowledging the work of the individuals. Take some time to think about who you know is making a big difference and submit the application by the 15th of each month, where the nominated staff members have a chance to win $250. This January, Mr. Haff, Social Studies
Thank you,
SACS Education Foundation

Congratulations to the 974 students who earned the Homestead High School Honor Roll during their 2024-2025 Fall semester! To be eligible for the Honor Roll, students must be taking a minimum of five credits and have earned nothing lower than a B- in all courses for the 2024-2025 Fall semester. Students were eligible for the “Distinguished Honor Roll” (names listed in bold) if they earned nothing lower than an A- in all courses for the 2024-2025 Fall semester. These students were recognized for their outstanding achievement during their lunch period in the cafeteria on February 25th. They received an Honor Roll certificate and a special treat.
Below is a link to the complete list of the students who achieved the honor roll last semester. If you see or know any of these students, be sure to congratulate them for this incredible accomplishment!!
Mock Trial is an organization that allows high school students interested in law to simulate what it would be like to work in a real courtroom. Students act as attorneys and witnesses, and present arguments for both prosecuting and defending parties in a simulated legal battle. Homestead has gone many years without a Mock Trial team. This year, the team participated in a competition in South Bend on February 22nd. In a year that was supposed to be "really a year to 'get our feet wet, our students did better than anticipated," Mr. James said. As the Mock Trial coach, Mr. James helped the team reach success. "These students have worked incredibly hard researching and practicing with a limited amount of legal advisement. Judges approached after each trial round complimenting these students and talking about the potential our students have in the future." The following students participated in the Mock Trial competition. The students with their names colored received an award for Outstanding Witness or Outstanding Attorney. Be sure to congratulate these students for their outstanding accomplishments!
