Spring Arts Convocation

For the first time since 2019, Homestead hosted its annual Spring Arts Convocation after being canceled for several years because of COVID-19 restrictions. Homestead students of all grade levels and disciplines exemplified their talents beautifully, representing the best of what the performing arts at Homestead has to offer. The Spartan Arena accommodated eight groups' performances, including the Symphonic Orchestra, Elite Show Choir, Jazz Band, Class Royale Show Choir, Winter Color Guard, Junior Varsity Dance Team, Varsity Dance Team, and the Champion’s Together Dance Team. Homestead is proud to showcase and foster such amazing talents. If you would like to watch the live stream of the convocation, click here

National Honors Society and Internship Program: Volunteer Hours

Attention all students who are involved in the National Honors Society or in Homestead's internship program! Remember to be completing your volunteer hours before the end of May. The end of the year will be here in the blink of an eye, and volunteer hours may begin to dwindle. Start getting those hours in, so they can be paced out over the course of the semester!

National Honors Society:   As a student in the National Honors Society, getting volunteer hours is crucial before the end of the year. A major opportunity here at Homestead is the ability to tutor your fellow peers! This is a great way to gain hours, and you can even choose to tutor during your study hall.  All you have to do is log your hours by submitting the google form after you complete your tutoring sessions. You can also contact the NHS board members for more information on various volunteer opportunities. All NHS members need 5 hours of non-affiliated volunteer work and 5 hours of NHS-affiliated hours.

Internship Program:  For any seniors involved in an internship second semester, be sure to be considering when and where you will be completing your 10 volunteer hours before the end of this semester.

Regardless of whether or not you are involved in the above programs, it is always good to complete volunteer hours. Volunteering is a great way to get involved and give back to the community. Volunteer hours look great on a resume, job application, or even a college application! Reach out to any local organization or a local event to get started.
