End of The year Information
End of 2022-2023 School Year Information
Finals Week Expectations
This final exam information was provided at registration and is also available in the Student Handbook.
Please note that students must take their final exams as scheduled (see linked schedule). Any student who is absent during final exams will be considered unexcused and will receive a zero on the exams, essays, projects, or any other assessment being given. Exams will not be given early under any circumstances. Students may NOT be parent excused (PX) on final exam days. Students are expected to be in attendance on these days to take their final exams. Parent/student vacations should be scheduled after the end of each semester…noting that the second-semester exam schedule may change due to cancellation days. Students are expected to be present in school the entire day during final exams. In some classes, students may be required to give a presentation or other such assignment in class as their final assessment. Due to time constraints, presentations may begin before the set final exam dates. A student who is required to give a presentation before a final exam day for a final grade must be in attendance for the scheduled final exam day for that class to receive credit. This requirement is in place because all students in the class deserve the same benefit of having a full student audience and the feedback they offer during their presentations.

Transcripts
Higher Ed Students: If you are taking higher ed. courses at one of the college campuses during the 2nd semester, please remember it is your responsibility to provide a copy of your college transcript to Mrs. Boneff in Student Services for that credit to be transferred onto your Homestead transcript and count towards graduation. Please provide that transcript no later than May 26, 2023.
Your College requires your final high school transcript including your 2nd semester grades and graduation date to complete your college enrollment for this fall. You will need to place your order for your “Final Transcript” to be sent to your college destination at the end of this semester on www.Parchment.com, selecting the option “HOLD FOR GRADES” in the drop-down box after you have selected your college destination. This will place a pending Parchment order for your final transcript to be automatically sent after grades are finalized by mid- June to the destination you have chosen.
Class of 2023 transcript orders are free when ordered on www.Parchment.com prior to July 31st of your graduation year. Class of 2023 transcripts ordered on or after 08/01/2023 will be charged an “Alumni” processing fee of approx. $3.75 by Parchment.
Graduating students must update their email address on their Parchment profile to show their personal email address instead of their SACS email address. In the event you forget your Parchment password, Parchment would send the password reset link to the email address listed on your Parchment profile. Your SACS email address will be deactivated as of June 30, 2023, therefore it is imperative for you to have your personal email address listed on your Parchment profile.

Upcoming School Year Information
Returning Heritage Class for the 2023-24 School Year
In the upcoming school year of 2023-24, the World Language department at Homestead will be bringing back the Heritage class! The Heritage class will be for any students who already speak Spanish. Those students may include those who speak Spanish at home with their families, or just simply those who are of Latin-American heritage. All students are required to take a foreign language class at Homestead, and this is a great opportunity for those students who already speak Spanish to further their language ability. Oftentimes, students enroll in Spanish, even though they are already able to communicate in the language. The Heritage class is an amazing opportunity for students to discuss their heritage and culture with others like them here at Homestead. Recently, when the Heritage class wasn't offered due to low numbers the Latinos Unidos club offered a chance for Latino students to socialize and remain connected. The return of the Heritage class demonstrates the need for Spanish Heritage speakers to further their language skills.
