What is the role of a tutor teacher?
Each learner is allocated to a tutor teacher, whom they stay with for their full 5 years at the school. The tutor group consists of learners from each of the Grades and gives the boys a wonderful platform to get to know learners from other Grades. Tutor lessons are held at the beginning of each school day. You are welcome to contact our tutor teachers via the EdAdmin Parent Portal or Edana App if you have any queries on the above.
You will have the opportunity to meet your son/ward's tutor teacher at the New Parents Welcome Evening.
Where can I purchase a car security disc:
All parents are issued with two car discs, these are given to the learners during their orientation programme. Should you require more than two or a replacement disc at any time, they are available to purchase from Mrs Twine in the reception office at a cost of R10 per disc.
We kindly remind you if you sell your car or replace your windscreen to please remove our security disc before hand for security reasons, thank you.
Who do I contact with regards to my school fees or hostel account:
Our Finance team are all on hand to assist you with any queries you may have:
Mrs Debbie Gartshore and Mrs Lynor Clay.
Please kindly find their details under the Contact Details Tab. Contact Details
Are there Lockers available for school books and musical instruments:
Book lockers will be availble via a Google booking form emailed out to all learners at the begining of Term 1.
Musical instrument lockers are available through the music department during the first week of Term 1.
BOOK LOCKERS:
A rental of R100 p.a.
Payment can be made via the Karri App, details will be loaded in the New Year by Mr. Werner Botha.
Learners must supply their own padlock with a key or combination lock.
Please make sure the right size lock is supplied. We suggest learners check their allocated locker first before purchasing a lock.
Copies of the key will NOT be kept by the school. Learners are instructed to carry a spare or advised to lodge it with a sibling or reliable friend at school in case of an emergency.
Hostel learners generally don't require the use of a book locker.
Lost property:
Lost property goes to reception where it is sorted once a week. Learners will be notified to collect their marked items.
Only unmarked or unclearly marked items get sent to the 2nd hand shop where they are stored for a term, 2-3 months, after which unclaimed items get donated to charity. This is purely due to the sheer volume of unmarked lost property and the lack of storage space.
Unlabelled lunch bags, lunch boxes and water bottles are on a table outside the entrance to the 2nd hand shop, please check there for these lost items.
Please ensure that all items brought to school are clearly labelled and include the learners first name and surname. Check markings regularly as they do fade or fall off.
Please ask your son to look carefully for his lost items. Check all classrooms and all change rooms as well as the school grounds, sports fields and even at the hostel. Most times someone has picked up the incorrect bag or item and then left it when they discovered it was not theirs. Also check the security huts as items may have been picked up by security when doing their rounds after hours. The junior school does notify us if they have lost property items belonging to high school boys.
