This is the Governor’s 55B/C program to hire veterans or people with disabilities. “Placement pursuant to Sections 55-b and 55-c of the Civil Service Law is limited to persons with physical or mental disabilities, but who are found otherwise qualified to perform satisfactorily the duties of a position.” This application, if approved, waives the civil service exam requirement. The individual will still need to interview and provide resume, but they do not need to sit for the civil service exam.
