Students will listen to the book Ship Shapes by Stella Blackstone (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Jhord7TrtM). After reading the book, create your own magical Ship Shape using the drawing prompt and images from the book to create your own sailboat drawing inspired by the illustrator's artwork from the book.
Draw in pencil first then outline with a black marker. Be creative, add a lot of patterns to the water, and color with supply of your choice. Use the entire paper!
Supplies:
White paper (8.5 x 11)
Pencil
Black Marker
Supply of your choice to color it.
This is an example of how to color your sailboat. This is just to give you ideas. I used both markers and crayons to color mine. Have fun and color yours however you want to.
Weeks of April 27th - May 11th. This art project counts as three art classes because if we were in school, we would be learning about Van Gogh and drawing for one art class and coloring our artwork for two art classes. I would like you to take your time with the coloring. The more time you put into the coloring of your artwork, the more amazing it will turn out. I hope you feel very proud of yourself when you finish your artwork and that you have fun!
Getting to Know Vincent Van Gogh video is below.
Second Grade- Bears with a Starry Night Sky- Draw along with Ms. Coyne video is below.
Hi Second Graders, I made this video to show you how to draw an animal starting with tracing your hand. This project counts as two weeks of art class because if we were in school, we would be drawing one week and coloring the second week. Please follow the step by step instructions in the video. I hope you have fun making your project!
For this art lesson, you will draw the character Pete the Cat from the Pete the Cat book series. Have fun!
