About Me!
My name is Mrs. Morrissey and I am your Earth Science Teacher! I am looking forward to having another year of fun and engaging learning experiences in my classroom.
Before you read about the course, I though you might like to know a little bit about me. This is my 26th year teaching, (24th) at Sachem. I started at Sachem South and came to East when it opened in 2004.
Before teaching I worked as a chemist in an environmental laboratory. It was a job that I loved but I always wanted to be a teacher. I completed my associate degree at Suffolk then transferred to Stockton State College in New Jersey. I finished my Bachelor of Arts degree at C.W. Post majoring in Geology. I went on to work in the lab while completing my Masters degree in Chemical Waste Management with a minor in Education at SUNY Stony Brook. After working a few years in the lab, I went back to graduate school to get my teaching certification.
I met my husband David when I was 20 years old. We have three boys. One in college, one in high school and one in middle school.
When I am not in school I can usually be found on a football or baseball field.
