Course Description: Earth and Space Science is the study of the processes that shape the Earth and explain the universe. This course will explore the four main branches of Earth Science, which includes the following: geology, oceanography, meteorology, and astronomy. In this physical science course, students will learn in detail about the Earth’s interior and the theory of plate tectonics. Students will learn about Earth’s systems and their interactions. Students will also explore the current theories that describe the formation or Earth, our Solar System, and the universe. Students will learn about the relationship between Earth Science and technology.
Science Requirements for New York State Students: Under NYS standards, all students are required to pass one Regents Examination in science and complete three (3) credits of science to graduate. There is a lab requirement that must also be met to pass the class. All labs must be completed in a satisfactory manner. See additional lab requirements below.

Homework: Homework is assigned on Monday and due on Friday. Homework consists of practice questions, castle learning, edpuzzle, handouts, etc.
On occasion additional HW assignments could be given if further practice is needed.

Class Rules:
All Students Shall

harassment.
3. Maintain satisfactory attendance.
4. Report to class on time. If you are not in your seat when the bell rings, you are late. Make sure
your previous teacher gives you a pass if he/she keeps you after the bell.
5. Come to class prepared with notebooks and writing utensils.
6. Keep cell phones and other electronic devices in their bags or pockets during class.
