My name is Libby Emery, and I'm a senior in the AP Capstone Program at Rock Canyon High School.
Since I was young, I have been enthralled with film. One can always expect me to be looking for the next item on my watchlist and adding it to the movie journal that I keep, full of paper movie tickets and quotes.
In addition to my fascination with the world of cinema, I am extremely interested in issues of mental health. With the recent rise in mental health discussion in society, I know multiple people who are open about struggles they have and have become invested in the topic of mental illness because of this.Â
What better way for me to combine these two interests than with a research project that focuses on mental illness in film?
Throughout my education, I have always had a passion for writing. I plan to pursue a degree in journalism and become a travel journalist.
I am involved in multiple volunteer organizations, such as Key Club and National Charity League. I also participate in Girls Flag Football, Track and Field, and I am the Activites Director for our school's chapter of National English Honor Society.
