My name is Rishika Kuntamukkla and I am a student at Rock Canyon High School going through the AP Capstone Diploma Program. I have found my ever-growing interest in the science field, which has compelled me to take many sciece courses and pursue the biotechnology pathway at Rock Canyon High School. My crious personality and love for science led me to my research topic.
Through the Rock Canyon Biotech program, I found my passion for research. I had the opportunity to work with various model organisms (like Drosophila) and state-of-the-art technology. The experience I gained working with fruit flies inspired both of my research projects. I hope to expand on my research on neurological disorders and finding affordable, natural treatmnts through my research project this year.
Outside of school you can find me enjoying the activities Colorado has to offer like hiking, biking, or enjoying the beatuiful views of the Rockies. I am also a pianist and often spend my free time learning new songs or performing at recitals. In school I am a part of various student organized clubs like science olympiad, HOSA, UNICEF, and academic honors societies. I also love spending time with my family, friends, and my puppy Leo.
