My research aims to investigate the impact of RNA interference (RNAi) on the spookier gene in Drosophila melanogaster, a gene belonging to the group known as Halloween genes. The Halloween genes are a group of genes vital for the development stages of Drosophila Melanogaster (fruit flies) due to their role in ecdysteroid production. By knocking out the spookier gene, I set out to observe changes in larval offspring weight, offering insights into the gene's role in development and its potential implications for broader genetic research.
