Hold on to your seats ladies and gentlemen because a couple of changes and advancements have been made:
The Data Collection:
First, while I was collecting the data for my movies (till present), I found faults within my criteria for the female gaze. It seemed as though the definition of the female gaze was too loosely defined that I found it great difficult to back up the criteria to scholarly sources to back up the criteria. That said my variable will solely include the frequency of Male Gaze and the four decades that are being observed. The Female Gaze will be included when presenting the future implications of the study.
Now I have finally figured out the statistical test I will be utilizing to consolidate my findings and create a conclusion as my data collection finally comes to an end. At first, I was going to utilize a 2-variable Chi-Squared test, but after discussing with one of my teachers, taking out the female gaze would completely disrupt the “two-variable” test. At that point, I felt that I had reached a really big setback… welcome to AP Research!
Instead of giving up, I checked out an online statistical reasoning website called Stapplet. This source and tool were utilized in my AP Statistics course, which I thought would help provide a list of all the statistical tests I could use. Here I found the Chi-Squared of Good Fit which was also recommended by my AP Statistics teacher. By being clear with my explanation of how this test will show the difference in expected and observed frequency of Male Gaze per gaze, I will be able to demonstrate a clear association between my variables.

I have really enjoyed and loved watching my movies these past few weeks! I even found my new favorite movies such as 10 Things I Hate About You and Heathers.
Not only have I been able to diversify the amount of movies I've watched from from different eras of Hollywood, but I also got to see what teens from generations preceding me loved and enjoyed.
