Abstract
Since physicians existed malpractice issues such as errors, misdiagnoses, and negligence have occurred, resulting in people dying or being gravely injured. Today, in the United States, malpractice is an ongoing issue that affects physicians and patients alike. My research focuses on how high-profile medical malpractice articles don’t mention systemic reform within the articles. To explore this topic I read through 60 articles from the 21st century, and I also aimed to answer the question of how many high-profile malpractice articles mention reform. Through my data analysis, it was revealed that very few malpractice cases mention reform. Due to my entire research process being conducted online and based on news reports and other online databases, there may be some skepticism about the accuracy of my findings. Despite this, there is more future research that can be conducted in order to reduce any room for error. Other challenges arose throughout my research process, but I was able to overcome them. My research is just the building block into what others can potentially explore in the future
Next Steps
Although my research journey has come to an end, I still have a long way to go in both my academic and personal career. After high school I am attending the University of Colorado Boulder where I will explore my passions of medicine, majoring in neuroscience. While at Boulder, I will continue to use my research skills to further my knowledge. After achieving my undergraduate, I am hopeful I can continue my medical journey by attending a medical school. I am so excited for what the future holds.
