Hi my name is Avis Qutub and I am currently an 8th grader at Ranch View Middle School. I have been on the yearbook staff for two years and this year, I was promoted to being the EIC of the staff. I am a student with a 4.0 GPA throughout middle school and have a passion for journalism. I chose to apply for this award because I feel confident on my journalism skills and I also value having my work critiqued. I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to apply for the Journalist of the Year award and I thank you for taking the time to consider me out of your many applicants for this year's award!
