This year in second grade each class is working on a dream project. Each class is picking something they are passionate about to help make our school community a better place. 2MC has been very passionate about making our bathrooms better. back in the fall the students noticed that during the lunch hour the bathrooms get really dirty and ever since, we have been working towards solving that problem. Today we looked at all of the questions we gathered for our custodians and narrowed down our top ten questions. Our next step is to interview our custodians about the bathrooms!

Today we celebrated our expert books! We have been working very hard on these books and we were so excited to finally get to share all of our work with our classmates.

Today we visited Wonderville! In wonder studio each class has been hard at work creating different buildings and places that make up our community. Our class created the Mamaroneck Diner! We worked in teams to put together our building. 

January 13, 2025

We have started our new math module! It is all about geometry, beginning fractions, and telling time. Currently we are learning about all of the names of polygons. We have been learning that a polygon in a shape with straight lines that connect, and the number of sides tells us the name of the shape.

Today we had a visit from Kate Greer. She talked to us about how to be safe online and make smart choices like always following the rules that our parents set for us around electronics. We also talked about never playing games with strangers online and to ask for help turning games to "offline" to ensure safe gaming!

The Earth Dome came to visit us today! What a special way to start our year back at break! We got to check out all of the continents and learn about many different places.
