We are moving into adding and subtracting within 1,000! Today we organized and counted a large collection of items and then reasoned 10 more, 10 less, 100 more, 100 less!

We kicked off Friday with Second grade circles! The addition of second grade circles into our routine each month is so special. We get the opportunity to connect with all of the other second grade students and think deeply about big, important topics. Today we learned about the word empathy. 

In number corner this month, our calendar has different flags! Ww are looking at the amount of red on each country's flag. We have also been looking on a huge  map to find each of the countries. It's been so fun "traveling" each morning to new places!

In our current math unit, we have been talking about fractions and now we are talking about telling time. We have been focusing on telling time to the hour and half hour. Right now we are working on using picture clues to determine if something is happening in the am or the pm.  Ask your student to help you tell time and think about what activities you are doing- is it am or pm? What does it look like outside at that time?

In Wonder Studio, we are launching a new unit of study: Architecture! Today we investigated pictures and wrote wondering questions about this topic.
