District Assessment
The Red Wing Public Schools Assessment team is responsible for all district-wide assessments.
Assessment results are used across the district to:
Personalize student learning
Identify student growth
Evaluate the effectiveness of our educational system
Determine student knowledge relative to the MN Academic Standards,
Provide information on student achievement to students, parents, district staff, the board of education and our community
Assessment Overview
Red Wing Public Schools administers standardized assessments in order to monitor student progress, achievement, growth, and to prepare students to be college and career-ready.
These assessments include:
State Accountability Tests
These tests are mandated by the state and are used to measure student attainment of Minnesota Grade Level Standards, school/district effectiveness, and student readiness for MN State College and University courses.
Grades 3 – 8, 10 and 11
Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCA)
Minnesota Test of Academic Skills (MTAS)
Grades K – 12
ACCESS for ELLs
District Standardized Tests
These tests are purchased by the district and administered to inform educational programming and instructional decision-making.
