This 12-week, FREE online course is designed to prepare you for a career as a paraeducator within a school setting at a school district of your choice and for the Paraeducator test. This also includes FREE testing for the Paraeducator test given on the last day of class. Topics covered include: math, reading, writing, classroom management, instructional confidence, positive behavioral supports, and intervention strategies for students with various disabilities, and how diversity should be addressed and respected in the classroom.
Requirements:
CASAS Goals Reading 239+; CASAS Math 2 ________ (TBD)
Must be at least 18 years old
Can not be enrolled in any K-12 school
Must be eligible to work in the US
Must qualify in one of the following areas:
Cut Score: CASAS Goals Reading 228; CASAS Goals Math 210; CASAS Life and Work 221 OR TABE Reading 536; TABE Math 519
Other Requirements:
HS diploma/GED/Adult Diploma OR actively working towards one
No citizenship requirement but a student does need to be eligible to work in the US to get a job as a paraeducator
A device with a webcam and microphone
A personal or school-given Gmail account
