COURSE DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this FREE course is to prepare students to become certified community interpreters. The course is divided into 2 sections. The first 4 weeks are a bridge course that is designed to assist students in understanding the material that will be taught during the second 5 weeks.
All sessions are interactive and online. This training is all in English and is a prerequisite to National Certification. This training is accepted in all 50 states and meets the requirements of many schools and state agencies to become an interpreter. Students must pass a certification exam at the end of the course to receive certification. Additional training beyond this course is needed for medical certification.
CLASS REQUIREMENTS:
Must be bilingual/multilingual in English and a second language
Must have a device with a webcam and a microphone
Student MUST attend 80% of part 1 of the training
Student MUST attend 90% of part 2 of the training
A gmail account
