pH & pOH

Goal

Your goal for the end of this lesson is to be able to: 

• Alternate between values of pH, pOH, hydronium ion concentration and hydroxide ion concentration

• Calculate the pH (or pOH) for a given substance given information that would lead to concentration (and vice versa)

Read through the information presented on page 21-24 of your notes, highlighting key information. This information can also be found on page 236-244 of the Nelson Chemistry textbook.

Step 2

Watch the lesson video which highlights important information, and works through a selection of practice problems (note that the full key can be found on our Solutions unit home page). Pause the video as needed to ensure your notes have a complete set of examples and you understand the steps taken to solve the problems presented.
