Student Expectations:
Students are expected to be in the classroom on time prepared with their school issued agenda, a notebook/lined paper, pen/pencil, and charged laptop.
All students must be wearing appropriate school attire in accordance with the Student Handbook and Lab Safety Contract.
Any student behavior in the classroom that shows disrespect of others or disrupts the learning environment will result in disciplinary action in keeping with school policies and practices.
Food or beverages are permitted with teacher approval.
Students are expected to arrive on time to class. After 3 lates, a cut-slip will be sent to discipline.
Students will sit in their assigned seat when entering the classroom. At no time should a student sit at a lab station or another desk without permission from the teacher.
Students who are game-playing or using their MacBook in class for purposes other than related to the subject area, after 3 repeated warnings are subject to disciplinary consequences in accordance with Policy #2361.
Cell Phone Use:
Cell phones are not permitted to be utilized in the classroom. This is a school policy. Students will have access to music and wired headphones if needed for music during independent work.
MacBook Use:
Students are responsible for bringing their district-provided MacBook device fully charged and operational to class each day. The device may be required for the administration of an assessment or for the completion of a learning activity where no paper option is available.
Group Instructional Activities:
One of the purposes of assigning group instructional activities is to encourage the development of communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills within a collaborative team setting paralleling the real-world work environment. Each student will receive and individual grade for their individual performance when working in a group.
Parent Expectations:
Check to ensure that the contact information for all Parents/Guardians in Genesis is accurate.
Ensure a functioning email address is connected to your child/children’s School Google Account to receive Guardian Summaries from Google Classroom.
