Our mission is to work collaboratively and engage our school community in a learning space that is open and welcoming to everyone.
By combining our print resources with new technologies, we strive to partner with students, staff, and parents as we read for pleasure and knowledge, connect to our world through research and inquiry, and collaborate to solve problems and empower students.
Students are welcome to visit us throughout the school day. Students are encouraged to use LC services and materials with their classes and teachers. Students may also use the LC during their classes provided that they have a pass from their teacher with a definitive assignment.
Please show your pass to Ms. Mayo, Mrs. Davis, Mrs. Van Dyk, or a study hall teacher when visiting the LC.
In order to adhere to social distancing guidelines as we reopen, the LC layout and procedures will look different this year. Please take note of any signage or directions when visiting the LC, always wear a mask when entering the space and remain at least 6 feet apart from other students and staff.
Thank you for your cooperation as we keep each other safe!
All books may be circulated for 2 weeks at a time. Renewals are encouraged.
Classroom books and novels reserved may have a longer specified loan period.
Overdue notices are sent to students' RHS Google email on a weekly basis.
All materials that you wish to borrow must be checked out at the help desk.
Return bins will be located by the help desk in the front entrance of the LC. Please return all library books in the appropriate return bin for that day of the week. Library books will sit in the bins for 72 hours in order to safely process and recirculate.
The RHS Learning Commons does not administer late fines and fees. If a book is missing or damaged, the student will be required to pay for the replacement.
At the end of the year, a hold will be placed on Powerschool for any student that has unreturned LC materials.
