Hi Friends!

I hope you have all been able to register online for the Rutherford Public Library's Summer Reading Club, and are trying to read a little bit each day so you can earn your prizes. Keep jotting down titles that interest you, that you are seeing each week. We don't know yet when you will be able to check books out, but we hope that it will be soon!

Saturday

By: Oge Mora

Ava and her mom have the perfect Saturday planned that will include storytime, picnic time and even a puppet show. But as sometimes happens, things don't go as planned. Even though they are initially both disappointed, they discover that it is still a beautiful day as long as they spend it together.

The Cloud Kingdom

By: Katrina Charman

The Last Firehawk is a great adventure series for younger chapter book readers. In this, the latest installment, Tag, a small Barn Owl and his friends are on a quest to find Blaze's lost family. There are giant birds and a magic map to guide them, but the friends will have to work together to accomplish their goal. This seventh book in the series is here at the library just waiting for you to continue on their journey with them.

If you are a dog lover, you will really enjoy this new series. There are large color photos, easy to read text and lots of interesting facts about 8 different dog breeds. Other books in the set are Boston Terriers, Boxers, Bulldogs, Cocker Spaniels, Dachshunds and Golden and my personal favorite, Labrador Retrievers.

This is My Fort

By: Drew Daywalt

This new beginning reader title is by the author of "The Day the Crayons Quit." In this new series called Monkey and Cake, Cake (yes, there is an actual live cake in this story!) has decided he needs his own private place away from his best friend Monkey. He just wants some alone time. Cake builds a fort; a "no-monkeys allowed" fort. All is going well until Cake realizes how much he misses Monkey and the two friends decide that being together is much better than being apart.

¡La palmo necessita la baño!

By: Mo Willems

I am happy to say we now have the Spanish edition of "The Pigeon Needs a Bath!" As you may know Pigeon is not a fan of taking a bath, but as we grow up we learn that if we just give something new a try, we might be surprised and end up loving it.
