Art Department is using latest STEAM Education at technology class. This STEAM eduction method is an approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points to teach student inquiry, discussion, and critical thinking.
STEAM education based on hand on projects. Teacher encourage students to take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential practicing, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration through the creative process.Â
Unit Objectives: Students combined art and science knowledge to create a non- fiction book on google slides. The whole unit contains three main parts:
Technology: Students learned how to design and create a book by using both hand drawing and computer editing softwares.
Art: Students learned geometric and organic lines and shapes. They applied the knowledge to create zentangle book cover. Students learned the pop art movement and artist Andy warhol, Daniel Buren, Aaron Young and Vincent Van Gogh.Â
Science: Students learned the chemical reaction during the ice cream making. They used this knowledge to make homemade ice cream and document their experience in their book.
