The Research Process

It is vital that students use a sequential plan when conducting research at every grade level. A formal research process guides students in:

• choosing a topic,

• collecting relevant information from reliable sources,

• avoiding plagiarism,

• producing and presenting what has been learned.

RUSD does not adhere to a specific research model, but recognizes certain steps that are necessary in helping students conduct successful research projects.
