The Beacon, named after the Wind Point Lighthouse, was originally a student newspaper at Racine High School. In the fall of 1928 two new high schools opened their doors, but it was Park that was entrusted with The Beacon, Joan of Arc, and Kipikawi - ensuring that the rich history and school spirit of Racine High would live on.
Throughout the years The Beacon has gone through many changes, ranging from being printed on a printing press at Park to moving completely online. In 2025, the newspaper staff at The Beacon reimagined the layout, creating a new, engaging paper and designing a new online site. We hope to publish print editions multiple times a quarter and update this site frequently.
