Completion of the core subject-area requirements will be done primarily through the GED Subject Area Tests. Instruction in these areas is aligned primarily to the performance indicators for the GED Tests, with the goal of students attaining passing scores. However there may be situations where a student completes the subject area requirements in other ways.
Rather than take several courses covering specific topics within each subject, students more than one credit behind in a subject-area but not taking the GED Test will complete a single course for that subject area covering the required Competencies within the subject, as determined by the Competency-based Diploma Program. Students needing one credit or less in a subject area will complete the courses necessary to earn that credit using Odysseyware or Edgenuity, or by attending in-person classes through dual-enrollment with their boundary high school.
