We learned about different Genre's
Realistic Fiction- made up characters that have events that could actually happen in real life
Mystery- has clues needing to be solved
Historical Fiction -realistic fiction that happens during a past time period
Science Fiction- Science and technology which often includes some fantasy
Traditional Literature -stories passed around and are timeless(fairy tales, tall tales, folktales)
ELA Vocabulary -
Protagonist- The leading character (often the "hero")
Antagonist- The character against the protagonist ( villain)
Major/Main Characters- Characters who lead the plot
Point of View- the perspective from which the story is told
1st person point of view- The narrator is a character in the story (Use pronouns -I, me, my)
2nd person point of view- You are the main character in the story (used in recipe books and manuals)
3rd person point of view- The narrator IS NOT a character in the story (Use pronouns-he, she, they)
