Welcome everyone to our math lesson this week! We will be focusing on the concept of

 "one less." 

This means taking away one from a number. 

For example, 

if you have 5 toys and you take away 1 toy, you will have 4 toys left - that's one less! 

we will be demonstrating this concept during the   lesson using various activities. 

Let's start by holding up 5 fingers and practising taking away one. How many fingers do you have up now? Join us for a fun and educational week of learning!  Can you use this tens frame to show your work?
