Colouring

All the planets have different colours

depending on their characteristics.

Use the sheet that you labelled last week (link)

to check the colours.

Can you colour the planets correctly?

     This week we will work on Adding More. 

Start by holding up 5 fingers, now show me 2 more.  How many fingers do you have up now? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Du6JHupzwVo

You can subitise with each number - it's a 5 and 2 more so it must be 7 or you can count on from 5, knowing that you started with 5.  5-6-7.Try this  with different amounts on your fingers.

Let's play a tower game.  

You will need building blocks or cubes and a dice. Roll the dice and build a tower with that many blocks.  

For example, if I roll a 3 then I will have a tower that is 3 blocks high. Roll again and add to your tower.  

How many blocks do you have, try subitising them. Continue the game until your tower falls down.  How high was your tower?  How did you know how many there were? I first started with 4 and then I got 4 more so that now I have 8! Play again and see if you can use more blocks this time. Can you use first, then and now to explain what happened?  

Last week we changed some of the aspects of our story 'Whatever Next' on our story map to create a new story. 

This week, let's use out story map to try and write some simple sentences and create our own story.

Last week we tried our best and, like Persevering Penguin we didn't give up! This week we will look at how we can encourage others and be Teamwork Tigers.

Together let’s see if we can build a tall tower, each person can add 1 brick to the tower at a time. When you are not adding a brick let’s try and shout words of encouragement; you can do it, keep on trying, take your time.
